Playful Family Session • Nicole & Jonathan • Chandler, Arizona

I’m so excited to share this playful little family session from last week! It’s been a little while since I’ve photographed a family session since I’ve been so busy with weddings and engagement sessions over the last couple of months. This was such a refreshing change of pace and this family reminded me why I love photographing families! I don’t think I could ever truly give it up!

After this session, I realized that one of the sad realities of being a mother is that you are not often in the day to day family photos with your children. Normally, moms are the ones on the other side of the camera, documenting the milestones. Swooning over the baby’s first smile and their awkward first steps. Or videoing the meal they just devoured and painted all over themselves and everything within arms reach.

With this in mind, one of the biggest priorities that Jonathan had during our early morning session was to make sure there were enough pictures of just Nicole and their two kids. He put the three of them together and suggested posed throughout their session. This was such a special thing to witness as a photographer! I loved the images we captured with the entire family. But my favorite moments that we captured had to be between Nicole and her kids.

Nicole and Jonathan, I know that it can be a challed being parents of an almost 1 and 3 year old, but you make it look easy! The way that you work together to take care of your little ones is both admirable and impressive. I loved spending the morning with your playful little family. I hope little Luca and Livy have the best of birthdays and that you love this little snapshot of where your family is right now in their lives!
